Body contouring procedures have changed dramatically in the past few years. We are now moving away from traditional liposuction, where fat cells are simply forcefully removed from tissue via a cannula attached to a negative-pressure suction device, to a more targeted approach focusing on body liposculpture, where fat is first emulsified via an energy (e.g. ultrasound) device, such as VASER® or PROMELTER® before it is removed from specific tissue layers (deep vs. superficial layers) and in different amounts from different areas, in order to create beautiful contrast shadows and definition. Once this is achieved, a skin-tightening procedure is carried out, which nowadays is done usually without the need for long visible scars, as in more traditional body-lift surgery. THE TECHNIQUE
The principle of liposuction is to introduce, through micro-incisions of 3-4 mm length, placed in strategic areas (natural shadows of the body), specialized cannulas with a rounded tip, (not sharp), perforated at their end with several holes. These cannulas will be connected to a closed circuit in which a negative pressure will be created. Before extracting the fat cells, fat is first liquified through ultrasound (Vaser®), which allows fat to be removed in a targeted manner, both from deep and superficial layers, so that high-definition can be achieved.
Renuvion® (or “J plasma”) is a latest generation device combining the properties of Helium gas with the effectiveness of Radio Frequency (RF) energy to create a double thermal effect. This combination will create a retraction of the skin. It does not generate additional scars to those of liposuction.
Dr. Ektor uses the PAL liposuction method, which is the gold-standard in terms of liposuction equipment. This micro-vibrating technology (“PAL”: power-assisted liposuction), allows for a more efficient, faster and less traumatic liposuction procedure, allowing for a faster recovery to the patient.

RECOVERY
SLIM-TIGHT HD-Liposculpture involves minimal downtime, and most patients would be able to go back to their normal work routine in about two to three days after the procedure. The swelling and bruising that normally occur usually subside within 2-4 weeks.
